Strong Businesses
Start With Strong Roots

A healthy business, like a healthy tree, depends on what’s happening beneath the surface. Your accounting records are those roots. When they’re accurate, supported, and well maintained, you have a stronger foundation for making decisions and growing your business.

That’s the idea behind Nakamura Bookkeeping Services: Healthy roots. Clean books. Solid growth.

About Me

Growing your business is like planting a tree. Just as a tree needs a strong root structure, your business needs clean, understandable books. Let me tend to the roots while you do what you do best—growing your business.

For almost 40 years, I've worked in accounting and payroll, building my career from payroll clerk to manager of external reporting.  Along the way I helped organizations produce financial information that people could rely on to make important decisions. Whether it was processing payroll, reconciling accounts, or helping prepare financial statements, one principle never changed: accurate numbers matter.

They matter to the employee receiving a paycheck with rent due.  They matter to management making decisions about the future of a company. They matter to the investor who is deciding whether to invest in an organization.

Today, I bring that same philosophy to small businesses through Nakamura Bookkeeping Services. I believe bookkeeping is about more than categorizing transactions. Clean, well-supported financial records help business owners understand their business, make better decisions, and spend more time focusing on growth instead of wondering whether the numbers are right.

I take pride in maintaining organized books, documenting significant adjustments, and ensuring the financial records I leave behind are clear, understandable, and supported. If I recommend a change, I'll explain why and work collaboratively with you to ensure your books accurately reflect your business.

The part of accounting I enjoy most is digging into the numbers—understanding why something changed, identifying what doesn’t look right, and figuring out what the financial information is telling us about the business.

I will take the time to explain what your financial statements are telling you because I’ve spent decades helping people understand what the numbers mean.  I don’t just want to classify transactions.  I want to help you understand your business so you can make better decisions to grow with confidence.

My goal is simple: provide reliable bookkeeping and accounting advisory services that give business owners confidence in their financial information so they can focus on what they do best.
